  1. An individual is allowed to enter and fish as many river Qualifiers they wish, providing that they adhere to individual cut-off date for each of the various river Qualifiers, and pay for each Qualifier they enter, the TEFF entry fee, the Federations Surcharge, and the fishery charge.

APPENDIX 1

Scoring and placings

  1. Each eligible fish will score 20 fish points plus 1 fish point per cm of length. i.e. a fish of 30.3 cm will score 20 plus 31 (51 fish points)
  1. Competitors from each session will be placed separately according to the fish points they have scored. In the event of a tie for fish points, placing will be based on the size of the largest fish (or if equal the next largest and so on).
  1. Competitors’ placings in each session will be summed and their totals will determine their position in the competition. The lowest total placings will be 1st and so on. In the event of a tie for total placings, the higher position will be awarded to the competitor with the most fish points.

Combining half day qualifier results

  1. When half day qualifiers are run, the morning and afternoon qualifiers shall be scored and placed separately and then combined to enable an overall placed listing to be complied.
  1. To combine the results the competitor scoring the largest number of fish points (morning or afternoon session) will be the overall winner, with the competitor scoring the largest number of fish points in the other session being placed second. Third and fourth overall places will be calculated between the two second placed competitors in both sessions on a percentage basis of the total fish points score in each respective session. The same method will be used to decide between the two third placed competitors to calculate the fifth and sixth overall places, and so on.

NOTE: In determining the overall placings, the percentage score of each competitor can be calculated by multiplying their points score by 100, and dividing this by the total fish points score for that session.

e.g. Competitor’s Individual Point Score (say, 758), multiplied by 100 = 75800

75800 divided by the Total Fish Points Score for that session – AM or PM – (say 4955) i.e. 75800 divided by 4955 = 15.30% (to two decimal places) = Competitor’s Percentage of the Total Fish Points Score in that Session
