AT TEFF National Rivers Final – Sat 6th-Sun 7th September, R. Dee, Llangollen

This year the Rivers National will be held on the River Dee in Llangollen, on the 6th & 7th of September 2025, on the above 4 beats – Country Park, Ddol-isaf, Golf Course & Above Horseshoe Falls.
NB: Only qualifying anglers are permitted to purchase a ticket for this event.
During both these days (and in any practice days) AT TEFF rules and any Llangollen Maelor rules will apply (see below).
The top 5 placing anglers will form the team, and 6th place as reserve, to represent England in the 2026 Rivers International on the Rivers Tummel and Tay in Scotland in July.

Cost & Practice Tickets

Tickets Close: 16:00pm on 15/08/2025 (this is to give any reserve the chance to make the required arrangements )
*Llangollen Maelor Angling members must provide proof of membership*
Non-members of Llangollen Maelor Angling must bring an additional £44 cash (for 2x day tickets) and pay Simon Caddy on the first morning upon registration.
The entry covers fees, food and admin.
Day permits:- £24
Season permits:- £88 joining fee are available online or from the hardware shop in Llangollen.
Note: Final day for practice is Monday 25th August (inclusive). No further fishing on National beats by finalists or anyone else is allowed.
The Draw
The Draw splits the finalists into 4 equal groups – A, B, C, D. These groups then fish two sessions and control two sessions on each day. The Draw also identifies a Priority Number, which establishes the precedence that a finalist has over their fellow group members at the start of sessions 1, 3, 5 & 7 to select their start position within his beat. This Priority Number can be used up to 30 mins before the start time for these sessions.
Rules
Fishing will be to AT TEFF International Competition Rules and those Rule Modifications listed below. The main points will be briefed on the day. Fishery rules, beat info, parking areas are on above maps.
Rule Modifications

  1. Trout and Grayling
  2. Size Limit – minimum 20cms
  3. In both the Final (and in any practice days), AT TEFF rules and these Modifications apply.
  4. The use of any ‘BUNG’ is strictly banned.
  5. Dry flies used in methods such as Trio and Duo should be flies that can reasonably be expected to take a wild river fish.
  6. Any ‘Shuffling’ is completely banned.
  7. Controllers and Competitors are NOT allowed to cross the river before the match has begun.
  8. All Fish must be netted whilst the fish is still in the water. Under no circumstances should a fish be “aerialised ”.
    Please ensure that your Angling Trust membership is valid and up to date at the time of applying and for your qualifier/s you are fishing and if you are successful to fish the grand final, otherwise the Angling Trust reserve the right to refuse entry to fish the event. 
    Cancellation/Refunds: Please note: If you wish to cancel a ticket, you are able to do this from the Angling Trust website. Alternatively, please inform refunds@anglingtrust.net by email, and include your name, the name of the event you would like to cancel, your membership number & post code. The Angling Trust require 3 days’ notice prior to the event in order to process a refund. Any notification outside of this time scale will not be entitled to receive a refund. Please note: There is no secondary market for the sale or transfer of any tickets.
